Saturday, July 29, 2006

I'm sitting here on Saturday morning trying to figure out what I should be doing. I know there is something the back of my mind saying "you need to do X" but for the life of me I can't figure out what it is. Instead I've spent the morning finishing a book and watching a little of Season 3 of West Wing. The only thing I "know" that I need to do today is shoot a role of film to test my new lens filter with. Last night Greg and I went ou to a nearby park so that he could take some pictures of the sunset. At one point I handed him my lens with the filter on it and then we went back to the house as the mosquitoes were biting. A quick look at the pictures he took with the filter did show some promise. I'm still going to have to play around a little today then take it to get processed sometime tomorrow.

Might go to Boston today...although I haven't heard that this plan is final yet...

Something about Tuesdays

Tuesdays are funny things. They aren't like Mondays which you dread as it is the beginning of the week, but aren't quite like any other day either, as with the exception of Mondays they are the furthest day away from Saturday.

Today is promising to be as unlike a Saturday as can be. I've somehow been swindled into working until 8pm tonight with a bunch of other people to catch us all up on our work. Of course, this doesn't mean I won't go into work early as I do every other day. No, I'm the guy who is going to claw out ever bit of overtime that I can possibly achieve while I can. The last few weeks I've been averaging about an hour and a half a day. Last week I worked 48.75 hours. I'm going to get a good paycheck this week.

But someday soon, this is going to wear me out. I normally wouldn't kill myself through work of I didn't have to, but as I'm leaving to Australia and New Zealand for 2 weeks, I really need to clean my desk. So what do I do? I work longer...harder...and tire myself out so that by the time I get home I'm toast.

But until then I will continue as I have been, as in truth, I have little else to occupy myself now anyway. I'm up early everyday as I am naturally a morning person and I could sit there in front of the TV for an hour...or I could go to the office and get paid for sitting there...

Easy decision...

I just wrote something very thought provoking and interesting on the state of Mondays...

Then I deleted it somehow with the Blogger interface.

Instead of rewriting it...I'm just going ask that you consider this thought provoking and interesting...

Wishing for Winter

I'm tired. More than anything else right now I think I'm just plain tired. I slept in today longer than I have in months...and I feel more tired than I have in months. I'm not entirely sure what the deal with that is, but I think there is something wrong with the situation.

The weather has just been plain nasty now for several days...or is it weeks now? I can't remember...

I'm wishing for winter in almost every breath, as at least I can control how warm I am...and the very air won't choke me to death.

Today I have only a few things to do.
  • Buy Food for the week
  • Do some Laundry

Actually...thats all. Another lazy day ahead of me, but after the week I've had I deserve it. And I have another one in the works as well it seems.

A New Begining

This is my first attempt. I've been using LJ for a few years now, but never have I been satisfied with it. It seems cheezy and just doesn't look good. This morning a Blogger friend of mine convinced me to try this out. So here I am...I'll probably still be using the LJ until I get this up and running, but if it turns out that I like this more...then well...'nuff said.

To answer your question I know you are all thinking...."What the Hell is CrytoGnomicon?"

Well..thats easy....and no my friends...I'm not a Gnome who lives in a Crypt.

Favorite Book: Crytonomicon
And Gnomes are just fun.

Besides...sounds beter than CrytoDwarficon doesn't it?

And for your own amusement...
